Jim Thorpe, PA

Godshall Kane Architects designed a new 35,000 square feet addition and proposed a complete 69,000 square feet renova-tion of the existing building to help the school respond to the constant advancements made in the various technical and industrial trades. The new addition will house programs suppor-ted by public interaction. A new salon-inspired Cosmetology suite and a dedicated restaurant will provide students with practical environments to learn and work in. New classrooms planned on the second floor will replace the existing modular units on site. Phasing for the building wide reorganization was carefully planned and coordinated with the school’s schedule. The new layout promotes clustering of related programs and enhanced general building security. Programs will benefit from expanded lab areas, new equipment, dedicated theory rooms, and adequate support and storage facilities. New corridors throughout the building provide students with direct access to each individual lab and address accessibility provisions.
